SafeWax at the MRS Fall Meeting

Yesterday at the MRS Fall Meeting #F24MRS Prof. Boaz Pokroy, SafeWax project coordinator, delivered a talk, “Harnessing Crystal Defects to Tailor Bio-Inspired Materials.”

Inspired by superhydrophobic plants like lotus  and broccoli , SafeWax uses fatty acid-based coatings that mimic natural wax crystals to protect crops against pathogens and mitigate effects of climate change.
