SafeWax at ACS Fall 2025 – Washington, D.C.

SafeWax researcher Hanan Abu Hamad, from the Faculty of Biotechnology and Food Engineering at the Technion – Israel Institute of Technology, presented the project’s latest results at the American Chemical Society (ACS) Fall 2025 Conference in Washington, D.C.

Her poster attracted significant attention and engagement, with many participants showing strong interest in the innovative use of fatty-acid-based superhydrophobic coatings for sustainable crop protection. The study demonstrated how SafeWax coatings can effectively reduce fungal growth on treated surfaces, underscoring their potential as bioinspired, biodegradable solutions for advancing sustainable agricultural practices.

This achievement highlights the strong collaboration of young researchers at the Technion, working together to develop innovative strategies for the future of crop protection.
