World Food Day 2026: SafeWax Featured by the European Innovation Council

We are proud to share that SafeWax has been featured by the European Innovation Council (EIC) Community in a special article marking World Food Day 2026, alongside fellow EIC-funded projects AMFactory and RE-IMAGINE-CROPS.
The feature highlights how EIC-supported technologies are advancing sustainable food production, strengthening food security, and driving climate-resilient agriculture.
At SafeWax, we are pioneering a new approach to crop protection with our bio-inspired, superhydrophobic coating made from natural, biodegradable fatty acids. Utilizing a passive, physical mode of action, our technology helps prevent pathogen infection while offering multifunctional benefits, including UV filtering, passive cooling, and water exchange modulation, to protect crops against drought and environmental stress.
By combining multiple protective functions into a single engineered surface, SafeWax addresses both biotic and abiotic challenges to build a more resilient agricultural ecosystem.
The article also highlights our upcoming participation in the AU-EU-Med Innovation Fair on November 25, 2026, in Bari, Italy.
